Kevin Underwood has been appointed as the British Woodworking Federation’s new Technical Manager. Kevin will work with Technical Officer Chris Addison to provide advice and information to members on the broad range of technical issues relating to joinery manufacture. Kevin is currently Windows Development Manager for JELD-WEN UK Ltd, having spent his whole career in the joinery industry since joining Boulton and Paul from university. He has also been an active member of the BWF, serving as Chairman of the Windows Technical Committee and representing the Federation on several British Standards Committees. In his new role, Kevin will take particular responsibility for tracking developments in Government policy and standards which have technical implications for the woodworking and joinery industry, developing the BWF’s response to them and advising members on how to react. He will also lead the Federation’s work in developing British and European standards for timber and joinery products.
