Further developing the skills gained at Level 2, this Level 3 qualification builds knowledge and skills with complex carpentry and the installation of bespoke first and second fix components.
This qualification is assessed through on-site assessment (OSAT) by experienced and qualified staff involved in this field. On achievement, the learner will be able to apply for the relevant CSCS card (In all cases applicants must also pass the appropriate CITB Health, Safety and Environment test).
The scope of this qualification includes assessing competence against the following NVQ units:
Mandatory Units
- Confirm work activities and resources for the work
- Develop and maintain good working relationships
- Confirm the occupational method of work
- Conform to general health, safety and welfare
- Installing first fixing components
- Install second fixing components
- Set up and use transportable cutting and shaping machines
Optional Units (you will choose a maximum of 2 units depending on the types of jobs you regularly do)
- Erecting structural carcassing components in the workplace
- Maintain non-structural and structural components
- Erect roof structure carcassing components
