NSCC writes to Vince Cable on Supply Chain Payment Charter

Further to the agreement by the NSCC Council to publicly welcome and commit to the Supply Chain Payment Charter, the NSCC has written an open letter to Vince Cable, Secretary of State and Chairman of the Construction Leadership Council on behalf of BWF and other NSCC member associations.

The BWF is determined that its members benefit from fair and transparent payment practices throughout the supply chain and have the right to receive full and correct payment as and when due. As NSCC members we are supporters of the Fair Payment Campaign which has the objective of achieving proper and timely payment and the elimination of retentions throughout the supply chain to improve the quality and delivery of construction projects. The campaign promotes 30-day payment terms and we view extended payment terms as ‘grossly unfair’ to the supply chain in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Regulations 2013.
