Apprenticeships: Modern Qualifications for an evolving sector

11 July 2018

We are delighted to announce that the following Apprenticeship standards are now ready for delivery.  These have been designed by employers to make sure they reflect the needs of the industry and of apprentices.  We'd like to thank all those member companies who have supported this process (for their insight and patience!).

Carpentry and joinery level 2:
including site carpenter, architectural joiner for all new starts in September 2018.
note that the existing framework pathway will close on Friday 7 December 2018 (do make sure you talk to your training provider to ensure that your apprentices are on the new programme)

You can view the standard in all of its glory here

Carpentry and joinery level 3
including Advanced site carpenter, advanced architectural joiner for all new starts in September 2018.

PS: The new Wood Products Manufacturing Operative standard is nearly there, just one more hoop to jump through.  This qualification is designed for employees who manufacture high volume, fully finished and high specification manufactured construction, furniture and shopfitting products from wood, such as windows, doors, door-sets, staircases and a range of interior and exterior carpentry and joinery products.

Remember, at BWF we have a dedicated training manager in Tony Batchelor who is on hand to assist you in choosing the right course for your apprentices.
