As part of our award-winning health & safety services for the woodworking industry, BWF has produced a series of Woodworking Machinery Safety Cards which provide essential guidance for those using or responsible for maintaining the many different machines currently used in the modern joinery and woodworking industry.
There are 32 BWF Woodworking Machinery Safety Cards. They cover workshop machinery such as cross-cut saws, spindle moulders, panel saws, CNC machines, forklift trucks, spray booths and planing, moulding and profiling machines.
We have drawn on our substantial experience to ensure the contents are as concise and logical as possible in terms of the directions they provide.
Copies of the cards can be downloaded free from the BWF website by BWF members.
The cards can be used to support the health & safety and training policies that a joinery company needs to have in place.
BWF members can also access comprehensive support from the BWF ‘Toolkit’, which includes our Health & Safety member helpline and publications on what HSE inspectors are looking for including HSE Field Operations Directorate Guidance for proactive inspections, and the Health and Safety essentials checklist. Fee For Intervention guidance briefing notes are available through the website by logging in as a BWF member.
There is also further free-to-members guidance on Health & Safety in the woodworking industry and documents such as sample inspection forms and sample risk assessments.
